Empowering Youth with Real-World Skills That Last

At ALMA of Austin, our Summer Programming is designed to meet youth where they are and guide them toward where they can be. Through structured, trauma-informed programming, we help young people build confidence, improve behavior, and develop essential life and career skills.

Job Readiness

We go beyond basic applications and resumes.
Youth learn how to present themselves with confidence, communicate effectively, and understand the expectations of a professional environment.

Our program covers:

  • Workplace communication and tone

  • Integrity, accountability, and professionalism

  • Financial literacy and money management basics

  • Real-world job scenarios and decision-making

Life Skills

We equip youth with practical tools they can use every day to navigate life independently and safely.

Key focus areas include:

  • How to ask for help and advocate for themselves

  • Where and how to find reliable information

  • Internet safety and digital awareness

  • Respect, boundaries, and social responsibility

  • Emotional regulation, self-control, and understanding consequences

Confidence Building

Confidence is not just taught—it’s practiced and reinforced.

We use a “look good, feel good, do good” approach to help youth build a strong sense of self and direction.

Participants learn:

  • The importance of self-image and presentation

  • Goal setting and personal accountability

  • Healthy assertiveness (channeling strong personalities into leadership skills)

  • How to speak up, stand firm, and make positive choices

Target Population

Youth facing behavioral challenges, lack of structure, limited access to resources, or barriers to academic and social success.

Expected Outcomes

  • Improved school engagement and behavior

  • Increased readiness for employment opportunities

  • Stronger emotional regulation and decision-making skills

  • Enhanced confidence and leadership capacity
